Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships and World Junior Trials

In Moncton, New Brunswick from July 2-4, 2010, 9 STFC athletes were sent to compete at the Canadian Junior Track and Field Championships and World Junior Trials and many outstanding performances were recorded.

A special congratulation goes to Kevin Bowman, who threw a personal best distance of 60.72m in the Men’s Hammer Throw.  This performance earned Kevin a GOLD medal and appointment to the Canadian Team which will be competing at the World Junior Track and Field Championships from July 19-25, once again in Moncton, NB.

Other STFC medalists at the Canadian Championships include Rita Rudell, a double-medalist in both the Women’s 100mH and the High Jump.  Rita finished the 100mH in a time of 14.51 for the SILVER medal, and cleared 1.71m in the High Jump in order to take home the BRONZE.

Top-10 Finishes were also posted by a number of other STFC athletes at this Championship event.  These include:
