Farrells Honoured at Ontario Sport Awards Ceremony

Congratulations to Geordie and Earl Farrel who were recently awarded the Syl Apps Special Achievement Award at the Ontario Sports Awards Ceremony in Toronto. This award recognizes individuals who have played a significant role in the growth of any sport in the province of Ontario. The Farrells formed the Saugeen Track and Field Club in 1983 with no indoor facilities and only a simple dirt track for training. Since then the Farrells have built STFC up into one of the top clubs in Ontario. The Farrells were also recognized for their many other contributions to track and field including instructing coaches, directing meets and administrating. Thanks to Geordie and Earl who have helped make track and field in Ontario the great sport which it is today.
