Ontario Cross Country Championship Meet

Brockville Ontario, Sunday November 18th .

Bantam Girls Division:
Cheyenne Hunter 2nd Silver Medal
Kortney Watson 5th
Josolyn Weir 20th
Kayley Deiter 37 th

The team placed 3rd in the Province wining the Ontario Bronze Medal

UWO Mustang Open XC Meet
Congratulations to the STFC girls x - country team that traveled to London on October the 4th to compete in the 2007 University of Western Ontario Mustang Open. The team finished 2nd defeating all but one of the College , University and High School teams. The meet was won by Augustana College from the USA . Congratulations to CWOSSA silver medallists Jordan Collison (senior boys) and Krisinda Alexander (junior girls).

National Junior TF Chps in Abbotsford

Josh Archer tossed 3 PB's in the hammer on way to a silver medal with a final throw of 54.75!
Shannon Gribbons placed 6th at National Juniors in the 1500!

National Senior Championships 2007

STFC athletes recorded many outstanding results at the National Senior
Championships in Windsor this weekend:

Arthur Turland 3rd in the Discus
Kurt Benninger 3rd in the 1500
Rick Carr 2nd in both the 100 and 200 M races.
Saugeen Alumni also had great meets
Lyndon McDowell was 4th in the Decathlon
Adam Kunkel broke the National meet record in the heats of the 400 hurdles and won the final

National Scholastic Indoor Championships 2007

Congratulations to Rita Rudell who finished 6th out of 22 athletes in the Indoor Pentathalon at the National Scholastic Indoor Championships in New York.

Rita's score in the Pent at New York (3145) is also a new OTFA RECORD for her age class!

Congratulations to Shannon Gribbons of Port Elgin who ran 5:01.77 to win the 2nd of 3 sections by 8 seconds, and finish 10th overall in the Metro Athletics Congress US Invitational High School Championships in New York City on March 10-11.

Well done, Shannon!
