Fish Fry Fundraiser
The next fundraiser for the club will be the Fish Fry. It will be held on Thursday June 25th at the Port Elgin Curling Club with serving starting at 5pm. Ticket prices are $13.00 for adults and $6.00 for children under 12. Tickets will be available for purchase shortly - pre-ordered tickets are preferred over walk-ins. Athletes are needed to volunteer at this fundraiser. Any questions can be directed to Marci Leeder at 519-389-4075
Benninger Claims Fifth in the Festival of Excellence
Kurt Benninger competed in the mile at the Festival of Excellence in Toronto on June 11, 2009. Running 3:57.18, Kurt captured fifth among a very strong field of runners. Congratulations Kurt!
STFC Athletes Win Three Medals at OFSAA
Seven STFC Athletes advanced to OFSAA which took place May 29/30th in Toronto. There were many top 6 finishes as well as a gold, silver and bronze medal. Mat West won the Gold medal in the Junior Boys High Jump with a jump of 1.95m. Jordan Collison won the Silver medal in the Senior Boys 2000m Steeplechase with a time of 5:52 - a STFC club and age class record. Kevin Bowman won the Bronze in the Junior Men 4 kg shotput with a throw of 15.94m. Congratulations to all who qualified and competed at OFSAA.
