	It's official!! The Saugeen Track and Field Club's 30th reunion weekend has now been moved to July 7,8! Please mark your calendars. The STFC 30th Reunion will be July 7-8, 2012. NOON to NOON. Tent camping will be available at Farrells (1910 Bruce Road 17) for those coming from out of town. If you plan to stay in a local motel/hotel, please do your own booking. Information for accommodation can be found on the Saugeen Shores (Port Elgin and Southampton) website. ATTENTION ALL SAUGEEN TRACK AND FIELD CLUB ALUMNI!! Saugeen Track and Field Club turns 30 this year and we are planning a Reunion on the weekend of July 7,8- Noon to Noon. We are encouraging STFC alumni to join us (Saugeen Track and Field Club) on Facebook where details will be posted and where you can hook up with other Alumni, or just check back here for more details and registration forms. (to be posted in April). Tentative reunion activities include; Saturday: paddling down the Saugeen (or sun and swim time at the Port Elgin beach), games for the next generation of STFC'ers, barbecue dinner, "Blast from the past" Video presentation, campfire and open mike. Sunday morning: continental breakfast, more mingling time. Tent camping will be available at Farrell's (1910 Bruce Road 17) for those coming from out of town. Hope you (and your family...we're always recruiting new members!) can join us this summer.		Congrats to Jan Louis Henning who's been accepted into the Military as an Electronic Mechanical Engineer. The program allows him to continue with his studies in Engineering at Queen's University. First though, comes BOOT camp in August! Good luck, Jan!! Congratulations to STFC Alum, Jamie Lewis. Jamie just graduated from Wayne State University with a Doctorate in Audiology from Wayne State. She is currently employeed at Henry Ford Health System, but will be moving to London at the end of June. She and fiance, Matt Teeter, are getting married on October 6th. Congratulations to STFC Alum, Josh Cassidy, who won the Boston Marathon Wheelchair race today...WORLD RECORD!!!! AWESOME!!! 1:18:25!! BRING ON THE RECRUITS!! ...more STFC babies to add to the distance group: Born to STFC Alumnus, Laine (Misch) and Jim Cosgrove, Chase James Cosgrove, on February 8, 2012, weighing 7 lb 13 oz! AND... to Amy and STFC Alumnus Neil Gowan-> Stella Maria Gowan: born February 29th, 2012 a Leap Day Baby! She weighed 7lbs15oz and was born 5:22am. She already is 22 inches and daddy thinks she has long, runner legs! Congrats everyone!!! Farrells will be making a giant play pen for the babies for the 30th Reunion! Plan on bringing your families!!! TWINS born to STFC Alumnus! TWINS!!!! Congratulations to STFC Alumnus Michelle (aka Slick!) Colley and Chris Law on the safe arrival of their newest family additions! Jack Robert Law and Thomas Gary Law were born Thursday, April 5th at 8:30am. Jack was 6lbs, 11 oz and Tom was 6lbs, 2oz. This year, former STFC athlete Mary Jane (Middelkoop) Roberts was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the University of Tennesse at Chattanooga. There is an excellent article about Mary Jane HERE. Please take time to read this! Her message about combining academics and sport in preparation for Life is profound. It's something from which we all can all learn. Congratulations, Mary Jane!! Congrats to STFC Alumnus and Tara native, Lieutenant-Colonel Alex Ruff. He was was honoured with a parade as he assumed position of Commanding Officer of the Second Battalion of The Royal Canadian Regiment located at CFB Gagetown, New Brunswick. Awesome!! Congratulations to Reid and STFC Alumnus Sarah (Champion) Wuntke on the birth of their baby son. Nathan Geoffrey Wuntke was born December 5th, 2010 weighing 7 lbs, 11 oz. Congratulations to Sarah (Farrell) and Greg Wolfe on the birth of their baby son. Greyson Charles Wolfe was born February 18th weighing 9 lbs, 7 oz. Congratulations to Andrew and Rachel McKessock on the birth of their baby son. Liam Andrew McKessock was born November 29th, 2010. Congratulations to STFC Alumni Sharon Sale (middle distance group) and Chris Slade (power speed group) on the birth of their baby son. Benjamin Lucas Slade was born January 28th, 2010. Congratulations to Kelda and Liam Card on the birth of their baby girl, Elodie Kathleen Cornell Card, born June 22, 2010, weighing 8.1 lbs. Congratulations to Kelda and Liam Card on their recent marriage. Congratulations to Mark and Joeleen MacDonald on the birth of their baby girl Mylah, born November 23, 2009. Congratulations to Mark Dalgarno who was recently engaged to Grace Wright from Knoxville Tennessee. Mark and Grace met at Princeton where Grace is a rower and is studying Environmental Studies. The wedding is scheduled to be on March 20th, 2010 in Taos, New Mexico. Congratulations to Jason and Erica Weppler on the birth of their baby girl, Taryn Beth, born September 24, 2009, weighing 8 lbs. 1 oz. Baby sister to Payton (3 years old). Congratulations to Patrice (Kuntz) and Dan Bouffard on the birth of their baby boy, Chase Zavier, born September 19th, 2009 weighing 8 lbs, 12 0z. Baby brother to Helene (2003) and Jett (2006). Ontario Bantam/Midget/Junior Championships (March 3-4, Toronto) The Saugeen Track and Field Club wrapped up the 2012 Indoor Season at the Athletic Ontario Bantam / Midget / Junior Championships at York University. The team was lead by Kevin Bowman (Port Elgin) who captured Gold in the Junior men's Weight Throw and silver in the Junior Men's shot put. Kevin's throw in the shot put is a new STFC age class record (old record Josh Farrell 2004). Sam Nusselder (Port Elgin) had a double medal performance in the Bantam boy's division winning a silver medal in the 800 and the 1200m. events. If practice is cancelled for any reason, we will post this information to local/facebook as soon as we can. If the schools are open, then practice will proceed for those who can safely make it! If the weather is bad or the roads are icy where you are, then it's simple...don't travel!! If you want to know what the weather is like in Port Elgin, then check the road reports.
